6 MONTHS AFTER–6 MONTHS TO GO -

Last year the European Commisions Progress report for Kosovo has identified many challenges in sectors like rule of law, economy, public procurement, human rights, that need to be adressed urgently by Kosovo authorities in order to get closer to European integration. The report gave also clear outlines on how these challenges need to be adressed. Whereas the European integration are on top of political agendas, it has been clear by the EU that more reforms are needed to make this a reality. To look back on the achievements in the first 6 months and priorities for the following six months, the Media Center has invited panelists: Renzo Daviddi, Chief of Liaison Office of European Commission in Pristina, Besim Beqaj, minister for European Integrations and Shpend Ahmeti, director of GAP Institute.

"The Progress report is a key tool for Kosovo to fulfill its European aspiration. It gives concrete and practical guidance required to achieve European standards that will translate into better living standards for people in Kosovo. This is why I welcome the upcoming series of progress report debates as an opportunity to increase understanding of what the report means for Kosovo’s future. I look forward to hearing open and constructive discussions between EU representatives, Kosovo authorities, media and civil society representatives as dialogue is the basis of a democratic society and lasting change and progress. I encourage everybody to participate."
